Step into the grandeur of a classic Viennese ball, set against the opulent backdrop of the Hofburg’s Ceremonial Hall (Zeremoniensaal) – where emperors once received their guests and chandeliers still cast a golden glow over marble and gilt. For one night, we trade the courtroom for the ballroom, and let Mozart, mystery, and a touch of baroque drama set the tone for an unforgettable AIJA evening.
Expect beautifully set tables, live music, dancing, and the kind of hospitality Vienna has been famous for since the days of the Austrian emperors.
Let the music play, let the wine flow, and let’s waltz the night away — Amadeus would expect nothing less.
Dress code: White Tie (optional) — gentlemen are kindly asked to wear either a dark suit or a tuxedo, with tailcoats being optional for those who would like to embrace the full White Tie tradition. Ladies are welcome in long evening gowns (optional), or simply an elegant, floor-length evening dress. For those who’d like to fully embrace the Viennese ball spirit, tailcoats, tuxedos, and gowns can all be rented locally — please let us know in advance and we’ll be happy to share rental options and details. Pro tip for the ladies: Vienna’s balls are famous for dancing well into the early hours! Wear shoes you’ll be comfortable dancing in all night — or consider bringing a pair of elegant flats or other comfortable change-of-shoes for later in the evening.
