Description
This interactive workshop immerses participants in a real-world cross-border supply chain dispute, where musical instrument orders collide with contractual complications, logistical delays, and competing legal frameworks. Through dynamic roundtable discussions, participants will tackle the strategic and procedural complexities of asymmetrical arbitration and jurisdictional clauses, interim measures in international disputes and force majeure defenses, sharing insights from their own jurisdictions and practices.

Bio
Sara Khalil is a Partner in the litigation practice group at Schoenherr’s Vienna office, one of the leading full-service law firms in the CEE region. She specialises in complex commercial litigation, with a particular focus on data protection litigation, where she represents clients in landmark proceedings as well as collective redress and mass litigation defence. Sara also leads on domestic and cross-border distribution disputes. She further advises on enforcement matters and annulment of arbitral awards.
David Diris
Kocks & Partners Brussels, Belgium
Bio
David is the managing partner of Kocks & Partners, and is not only an experienced litigator in commercial disputes but also serves as an arbitrator for the ICC. With his extensive background, David has a keen eye for identifying potential risks in existing contracts and can help mitigate those risks during the drafting process. David’s credentials include his former roles as President of the AIJA T.R.A.D.E. Commission (Trade, Retail, Agency, Distribution, and E-commerce) and Vice-President of the AIJA Inhouse Counsel Commission. These positions have provided him with valuable insights into the specific requirements of in-house counsel, making him a trusted advisor to many in-house counsels at large corporations.

Bob is a senior associate in the Litigation & Arbitration practice group at Houthoff in the Netherlands. His focus lies on complex cross-border disputes and international mass claims, and he regularly advises on private international law issues.
Chiara Caliandro

Bio
Chiara is a partner at De Berti Jacchia, a full-service firm based in Milan founded in 1975. She specialises in civil and commercial litigation, assisting both national and international clients in resolving their disputes in Italy, whether in court or before arbitral tribunals. She assists clients doing business in Italy by drafting, negotiating and pre-litigating commercial contracts, from day-to-day agreements to complex multiparty projects. Her AIJA life has been so important to her that she feels she should thank the association every single day! Recent updates: after 5 years as Vice-President and Co-President of the Litigation Commission, she is now Co-Chair of the Bar Relations Coordination team within the Extended Bureau. She also has the honour of serving as AIJA Liaison Officer within the Young Lawyers’ Committee of the IBA. She is a working partner-mum, so free time is limited, but she loves wine tasting, diving and police and medical drama TV series (binge watching very much included).

Diego is a partner of the dispute resolution practice area at Veirano Advogados (Brazil). He obtained his bachelor’s degree in 2010 and has been working as qualified lawyer in Brazil since 2011. Due to his specialization in Corporate Law, Diego acts in complex judicial and arbitral proceedings, involving corporate matters, including post-M&A disputes, definition of the purchase price in M&A transactions, directors’ liability, and exclusion of shareholders. Moreover, Diego has also worked with disputes related to construction, corporate contracts, torts and public law.

Marc Krestin
Fieldfisher Amsterdam, Netherlands
Bio
Marc Krestin is a partner in the Dispute Resolution team at Fieldfisher, based in Amsterdam. Prior to joining Fieldfisher in February 2024, he gained over 15 years of experience in dispute resolution at international law firms in Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Paris. Marc acts as counsel in international commercial and investor state arbitrations under various institutional rules, as well as in corporate and commercial litigation before the Dutch courts, with a focus on energy, construction, retail, technology and corporate disputes. He also sits as an arbitrator and regularly advises clients on matters of public international law, ESG and third party funding. He has published extensively in the field of international arbitration and ADR, has spoken at numerous conferences, and has guest lectured on arbitration and advocacy at the University of Amsterdam, the Paris Bar School, and Panthéon Assas University Paris II. Next to his long-standing active membership of AIJA, Marc is a member of the Investment Arbitration Committee of the Dutch Arbitration Association, the ESG Subcommittee of the IBA Arbitration Committee, and the Executive Committee of the Rising Arbitrators Initiative. He holds master’s degrees in international law and economics from Erasmus University Rotterdam and an LLM in comparative and international dispute resolution from Queen Mary University of London. He is fluent in Dutch, German, English and French, and is admitted to the Amsterdam Bar and the Paris Bar (under Directive 98/5/EC).

Albane Watine is a Counsel at Altaïr Avocats’ Paris office, a French law firm specialising in business law. She advises French and international clients on commercial contracts, distribution law and competition law, in advisory and litigation matters. Albane acts for clients across a broad range of industries, including retail, pharmaceuticals, agri-food, manufacturing and consumer goods, with a particular focus on premium brands in the home, design and art de vivre sectors. She has developed recognised expertise in selective and exclusive distribution networks, commercial agency and franchise arrangements, as well as competition law matters covering anticompetitive practices, restrictive trade practices and unfair competition claims, before French courts and in cross-border proceedings. Albane holds an LLM in German Law and an LLM in European Business Law from Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (LMU). She is trilingual in French, English and German and regularly assists foreign clients and counsel on French and EU law questions.

Lena Hoss is a senior associate at the top tier-1, full-service, leading independent Luxembourg law firm Elvinger Hoss Prussen. Elvinger Hoss Prussen was established in 1964 and counts today over 350+ lawyers, with offices in Luxembourg, Paris and Hong Kong, as well as a presence in New York, helping clients navigate Luxembourg law. Lena specializes in civil and commercial dispute resolution with a specific focus on corporate and commercial litigation. In this context, she regularly assists clients in cross-border disputes. Lena joined AIJA in May 2025 and has since then been completely hooked by the AIJA spirit.
